The Master plan has been oriented on a strict East-West axis which limits the influence of the sun in generating temperature gains inside the building. This reduce cooling demands, as the east and west façades which experience the lowest sun angles are also the shortest façades.
The master plan maximizes opportunities to utilize natural ventilation. By aligning the buildings with the prevailing winds, it is possible to enhance thermal comfort in the interstitial spaces between the building blocks within the “social bridge” that links the buildings together. The building embodies the client’s triple bottom line approach to people, planet, and profit, which is at the heart of ITC’s business practice.
